Introducing Richmond County’s new ALERT system!
In times of crisis, it is important that residents have access to trusted, timely, and accurate information to ensure their safety and that of their families and loved ones.
In response to this need, Richmond County has chosen Voyent Alert! as a communication service used to send alerts to residents, businesses, and visitors during critical events like fires or floods as well as for relevant day-to-day communications such as planned maintenance, water advisories, etc.
How to Register
Registration for the service is FREE, simple, and totally anonymous. There are four (4) ways to receive alerts:
- SMS Text
- Voice-to-Landline
- Voyent Alert Moblie App
For SMS Text, voice-to-landline, and Email alerts: Register online at Voyent Alert!
For Mobile App Alerts: Download and install the Voyent Alert! app from the Apple or Google Play app stores.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
- West Richmond, Central Richmond, Isle Madame, St. Peters and Richmond County Land Use Bylaws
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Municipality of the County of Richmond intends to consider and, if deemed advisable, to approve amendments to the Land Use By-laws for West Richmond, Central Richmond, Isle Madame, St. Peters and Richmond County by
Reverting the period for appealing a variance in the requirements of the corresponding land use by-law from twenty-one (21) to fourteen (14) days. These amendments apply to all areas of Richmond County and the purpose of the amendments is to conform to the requirements of the Municipal Government Act.
Copies of the amending pages can be inspected at the Municipal Office or at the Eastern District Planning Commission, 606 Reeves Street, Unit 3, Port Hawkesbury between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays), online at www.edpc.ca.
Written or oral presentations (for or against the amendment) can be made before Municipal Council at a Public Hearing to be held:
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
