The Municipality of the County of Richmond offers grants and programs to support community groups, volunteer organizations, and eligible residents. This page provides information about available funding, who can apply, how to apply, and where to find related policies and forms.

Community Grant -
Tier 1 Funding

Up to $1,000


For eligible community groups with smaller local projects that directly benefit Richmond County residents.

Community Grant -
Tier 2 Funding

Up to $7,500


For eligible community groups with larger projects that provide broader community benefit.

Waterfront Development Grant - Tier 3 Funding

Up to 50% of the project cost


For eligible waterfront development projects that support community infrastructure and are similar to the eligible project types under the Canada Community-Building Fund.

Advertising and Sponsorship Funding

 Up to 100% of cost

For eligible organizations, community groups, or individuals applying through an eligible host organization for events, activities, publications, or sponsorship requests that provide community benefit or municipal recognition.

Trail Creation, Rehabilitation, and Improvement Funding

Up to $5,000 / 50% of costs

For eligible community groups creating, improving, or repairing multi-use and shared-use pathways.

Positive Recreation for All (PRO-Recreation) Program

Up to $200/person · $500/household per year

For eligible residents and families who need support to participate in recreation, physical activity, and wellness programs. Financial support is applied directly to the registration fee and/or equipment costs.

Low Income Property Tax Exemption Program

Up to $200 credit

For eligible homeowners who may benefit from support with residential property taxes for their primary residence in Richmond County. The credit is applied directly to your tax account.
