Global Media and Information Literacy Week
October 24–31, 2025
Richmond County Municipal Council has proclaimed October 24 - 31, 2025, as Global Media and Information Literacy Week!
This year’s theme: “Minds Over AI – Media and Information Literacy in Digital Spaces”
Technology is changing how we access and share information. Online platforms often tailor content to us, and not everything we see is true. Misinformation and disinformation can affect public safety, health, and trust in our community.
By strengthening media and information literacy skills, we can:
✅ Spot misinformation
✅ Use online tools responsibly
✅ Stay safe and respectful online
✅ Support a stronger, more informed community
💻 Free Weekend Workshop – Find the Facts: Learn to tell what's real and what's fake on the internet

Learn how algorithms decide what you see online, recognize click-bait and rage-bait, fact-check information, understand Facebook’s news ban, and gain basic AI awareness.
Session 1:
When: October 25 - 26

Public Hearing Notice
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Municipality of the County of Richmond intends to consider and, if deemed advisable, approve the adoption of the MUNICIPALITY OF THE COUNTY OF RICHMOND
BY-LAW NUMBER R-100 - REPEAL OF BY-LAW 64 - DUNDEE HILLS DEVELOPMENT WASTEWATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT BY-LAW
- The purpose of this by-law is to repeal the Dundee Hills Development Wastewater Management District By-law, By-law # 64, as it is no longer required.
The proposed By-law can be inspected at the Municipal Office, 2357 Hwy 206, Arichat, Nova Scotia, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays). Written or oral presentations (for or against the proposed By-law) can be made before the Municipal Council at a Public Hearing to be held:

NOTICE to customers of the Louisdale water system - Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
UPDATE: Time moved to 2:00 pm.
Please be advised that, due to maintenance being performed on Highway 320 in Lennox Passage, there will be a short duration water outage for customers from Harbourview Crescent through Lennox Passage around 1pm today. The outage is expected to be less than one hour.
