Request for Proposal
The Municipality of the County of Richmond invites proposals for the provision of External Audit Services to act as the Municipal Auditor.
The detailed Request for Proposal is available on the Provincial tenders website at www.novascotia.ca/tenders or may be requested electronically by contacting the undersigned. Not necessarily the lowest or any bid will be accepted.
Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Tender MOCR202517” to the undersigned no later than 3:00 pm on November 28, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.

Low Income Property Tax Exemption Program – Application Deadline Extended
The Municipality of the County of Richmond has extended the deadline for applications to the Low Income Property Tax Exemption Program to December 31, 2025.

Public Notice: Closure and Relocation of the St. Peter's Public Library
The St. Peter’s Public Library will be closed to the public on Thursday, October 30th, for moving preparations and relocation until further notice.
While the library is closed, users can continue to receive their holds free of charge through the Borrow by Mail service. For more information about this service, please visit https://ecrl.ca/locations/borrow-by-mail-service/.
The official reopening date for the new location at 9992 Greenville Street will be announced once the move is complete.

Public Notice: Bulk Water Filling

Due to the prolonged period of little to no substantial rainfall, we would like to remind residents that bulk water filling is available for those needing larger quantities of water.
💧 Bulk Water Filling
The Municipality continues to offer bulk water filling for residents. While the Municipality is not able to deliver water, we can fill your totes or large tanks from the municipal system.
Please note that while the water supplied is from the potable water system, the Municipality makes no warranty or guarantee as to the quality or potability of the water whatsoever once it leaves the distribution system.
Price
The bulk water rate is $5.90/cubic meter (1000 liters) with a minimum charge of $40 per filling.
How to access this service
Residents wishing to have their totes filled will need to sign a waiver and pre-pay at the Municipal Office at 2357 Highway 206, Arichat. Staff will then contact you to arrange the time/location for filling. Please note that the time of filling will be during regular work hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), subject to staff availability.
