Volunteer of the Month, April 2023
Paul Boudreau
Paul has been an active volunteer in his community for many decades. As a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1976, he’s held several positions, with his current role being Past Grant Knight. Paul plays an integral role in the Christmas Turkey Dinner Boxes initiative that is organized by the Knights which serves those in need on Isle Madame. He has committed a lot of his time to the Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Arichat, ensuring the facility is available to the public daily, inventory is replenished, a member of the Parish Choir, Eucharistic Minister and also a member of the Parish Council, as well as a member of the Richmond County Men’s Choir.
Paul is also one of the founding members of the Isle Madame Food Bank. Through his efforts, he coordinates the volunteer group, receives calls from clients and works on the distribution of goods to those in need on a bi-weekly basis. He was also part of the Red Cross equipment loan program for approximately 18 years and has provided coaching to Minor Hockey and Minor Baseball in the past. He’s contributed to the door-to-door campaign for organizations such as the Cancer Society, Red Cross and CNIB.

Volunteer for the Month, March 2023
Henry Samson & Darren MacRae
Darren MacRae and Henry Samson have worked together on many initiatives for the Barachois Trail Association. Together, they have dedicated countless hours to various projects from organizing heavy equipment resources to repairing an abandoned rail corridor, which has had a significant impact on shaping the trail into the Richmond County Rail Trail, a multi-use trail that many Richmond County residents come to love. Both Darren and Henry can be found on the trail, almost daily, fixing and filling potholes and keeping the trail groomed for users to enjoy. The combined time and effort of Darren and Henry is showcased in the well-maintained trail that is available for all to access.

Volunteer of the Month, February 2023
Ronnie LeBlanc
Ronnie LeBlanc has been an active member of his community for over 30 years. Currently the president of the D’Escousse Civic Improvement Centre, Ronnie can be found present at many events such as the bingo, card play, darts, songwriter circle, and the community breakfast to name a few. Ronnie is always willing to support, partner and collaborate with community groups to ensure success, whether it’s the Isle Madame ATV Rallys, Yatch Club Festival or any community event that takes place at the hall. He was a key player in starting the Isle Madame Chase the Ace which benefited many organizations on Island Madame.
After a successful career, Ronnie recently retired and continues his volunteer efforts even more. A true community champion, he is very accommodating and supportive of local community groups, organizations and fundraising efforts.

Raymonde Burke
Raymonde Burke is the Chair of the L'Ardoise Parish Council, present at many church functions, member of the 200th planning committee, takes a lead role at the Harbour Wars event and assists with many fundraising activities/events in her community.
Raymonde can be found front and centre at most annual events such as the Acadian Day Festival, Christmas Parade and Children's Party. Whenever or wherever there’s a need she can be found present and willing to go above and beyond for the group. We salute Raymonde for giving her time over the years.
