Harold Landry
As a marine engineer, Harold has not only worked on countless boats in River Bourgeois and the surrounding areas but has also played a pivotal role in shaping the community. His technical expertise and deep connection to the water have made him a trusted figure in the local community.
Harold is one of the founding members of the River Bourgeois Mariners Society, where he served for many years as vice-chair and contributed his expertise and dedication to the society's mission. When the future of the community marina was uncertain, Harold united the residents and spearheaded the formation of the society, which led to the preservation and development of the cherished marina we all enjoy today.
In addition to his work with the Mariners Society, Harold has been an active member of the River Bourgeois Community Services Society, where he has served as the Property Service Chairperson. His commitment and passion continue to make a lasting impact on the community.

Clive Samson
Clive Samson’s dedication to his community is truly inspiring. His contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 are invaluable, reflecting his unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and their families. Clive’s exceptional organizational skills are evident in projects like the Veterans Picnic Table Project, monthly breakfasts, fish fry events, song circles, and the Remembrance Day sidewalk banners.
Beyond these efforts, Clive actively promotes youth engagement through interactive projects at École Beau-Port, leading the youth choir, and involving young people in Remembrance Day ceremonies. His commitment extends further as a board member of the St. Anne Community and Nursing Care Centre.
In his beloved community of Petit-de-Grat, Clive takes pride in maintaining its beauty, often seen cleaning roadsides, the beaches, or lending a helping hand to both young and old. Despite his numerous commitments, Clive still finds time to volunteer at the Isle Madame Food Bank, St. Joseph’s Parish in Petit-de-Grat, and always lending a hand with a smile at École Beau-Port's special events.

Rose Merrick
For over 30 years, Rose’s contributions to her community have been invaluable, and her commitment to her community is unwavering.
Rose has been a cornerstone of leadership and a key facilitator of community supper. She has steered many events that fostered community pride and connection. Showcasing her natural ability to organize and lead activities, memorable events she has led include Chase the Ace, the River Bourgeois Festival, Pub Nights, and Haunted Houses. Additionally, she was a founding member of the Youth and Development Committee in the early 2000s.
Rose's approachable nature and willingness to help, make her an indispensable resource. Rose consistently finds new ways to improve her community and enhance the lives of those around her. Rose embodies the spirit of volunteerism, and her dedication has made a lasting impact on the people of River Bourgeois.

Claire Doyle
Over the years, Claire was a founding member of the first group of Isle Madame Brownie's and Guides, was active with the Isle Madame Food Bank, President of the Isle Madame Tourism and Business Association, an Executive Member of the local unit of the Canadian Cancer Society, a member of L’Association des femmes acadiennes de Richmond as well as the Religious Education Coordinator for the Stella Maris Pastoral Unit.
More recently, Claire was the Chair of the Stella Maris Social Justice Committee, which organized fundraising efforts to support two Ukrainian families who relocated to Isle Madame, a member of the Strait Richmond Housing Matters Coalition, an Executive Member of the Rocky Bay Irish Club, Director for the Seniors Take Action Coalition and was involved in the ACTing Collectively research project. As a passionate gardener, Claire has been actively involved in community gardening as the President of the Isle Madame Garden Club.

Volunteer of the Month, May 2024
Robert Goyetche
Over the past 10 years, Robert has been the President of the Fleur de Lis Seniors Club leading the planning and execution of all the club's events. During this time, he has been instrumental in coordinating the club's ticket sales, bookings, and event promotions.
Robert chairs the Strait Richmond Hospital board and is the Co-Chair of the Seniors Action Coalition. He is the Treasurer of the Louisdale Lion's Club and an active board member for the Louisdale Community Homes.
When Robert is not attending board meetings, he can often be found managing the rentals for the Louisdale Lion's Hall and lending a hand at their monthly breakfast making delicious, scrambled eggs.
