FRAMBOISE WILDFIRE – UPDATE

Time: 1:45 p.m.
Location: Near Three Rivers Road, Framboise, NS
A forest fire that began around 17:00 near Three Rivers Road in Framboise on May 29,2025, is now being held.
CURRENT STATUS:
- The fire is being held but is not yet fully contained. However, containment is expected soon. Firefighters are establishing a hoseline around the perimeter.
- Stirling and Three Rivers Roads remain closed by the Department of Public Works.
RESPONSE & RESOURCES:
- Cape Breton Regional Municipality resources are on site, including the Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator.
- The Department of Natural Resources has 20 firefighters on site.
- Three County Fire Departments, Framboise, Grand River, and L’Ardoise, are on scene with a total of 25 members.
- Loch Lomond Fire Department is on standby, and St. Peter’s is serving as a staging area.
- A drone is in use to monitor the fire from above.
