Sewer Main Cleaning Notice
Please be advised that the Municipality of Richmond will be cleaning sewer mains in Evanston, Louisdale, Petit de Grat, and Arichat from Monday, September 14 to Friday, September 18, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
This maintenance is necessary to prevent blockages and backups in the sewage collection system. Because of the pressures required for proper cleaning and inadequacies in some home plumbing systems, back pressure created by this process may come up in toilets and bathtub drains, causing small inconveniences. Residents with inadequate venting on their plumbing may also notice a slight odour of sewer gas in the home as a result of water being pulled from the traps; however, this can be addressed by running a small amount of water in all sinks and bathtubs and flushing all toilets.
