WEATHER REMINDER: WINTER STORM IN THE FORECAST
With stormy weather in the forecast for Richmond County, we'd like to remind residents of a few helpful tips:
- As with any winter storm, please prepare to shelter in place for 72 hours.
- After the storm passes, should we experience a prolonged power outage during cold weather, the Municipality will work to open warming centres as conditions allow and use every communication stream available to get these messages out to as many residents as possible.
- A list of Comfort Centres partnered with the Municipality can be viewed on our website (see "More Information" below)
- Please note that other community centres in Richmond County may also choose to open independently and will communicate directly with the public if they do.
BE A GOOD NEIGHBOUR:
- When it's safe to do so, check in on neighbours - especially those who are most vulnerable.
- Please do not risk becoming another person in need of aid and resources - only venture out when conditions are safe
MORE INFORMATION: Please refer to our instructions for storm events, including a list of comfort centres on our website by following this link: https://www.richmondcounty.ca/preparing-for-an-emergency.
Stay warm and safe, Richmond County!
