GenWell Weekend and World Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week
Richmond County Municipal Council has proclaimed two awareness initiatives for September 2026.
GenWell Weekend, observed September 18 to 20, encourages residents to strengthen relationships, reach out to others, and build a more connected community.
World Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Week, observed September 14 to 20, raises awareness of mitochondrial disease and supports individuals and families affected by mito. The week also highlights the importance of research, education, and access to care.
Residents are encouraged to learn more about these initiatives, share information, and support efforts that promote connection, awareness, and understanding in our community.
