What is No Mow May?
No Mow May is a campaign that asks people to mow their lawns less in May so flowers can grow. These flowers give food and shelter to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators that are active in spring. Pollinators help plants grow and are important for food and nature.
Participation does not have to mean leaving your entire lawn untouched; even setting aside a small patch or corner of your yard can make a positive impact.
Ways interested residents can participate:
🌼 Leave a small naturalized area or pollinator patch
🌱 Reduce mowing frequency where possible
🐝 Support native plants and early blooming flowers
💧 Help improve soil health and moisture retention
