All Municipal facilities will be closed on Monday, February 19th for Heritage Day.
Celebrated the third Monday in February, Nova Scotia Heritage Day is an annual reminder of
our storied past and an opportunity to honour the remarkable people, places and events that
have contributed to this province’s unique heritage.
This year William Hall is being honored. William Hall (1827-1904), born in Horton, was the first
person of African decent and third Canadian to get the Victoria Cross.
