For Immediate Release
Richmond County, NS – Richmond County Council announced on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, that they successfully recruited a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) to lead the County’s administrative operations.
Following a competitive, nationwide search led by human resources advisory firm, Gerald Walsh Associates, Council announced that Troy MacCulloch of Pincher Creek (formerly New Glasgow) will assume the position of CAO in August.
Warden Mombourquette was excited to share the news following a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday. “Troy has a fantastic set of operational skills, from human resource management to finance to policy development, and we are very pleased to have him join our team,” noted Mombourquette. She also praised senior staff for their dedication, saying, “On behalf of Council, I’d like to extend thanks to Chris Boudreau, Director of Public Works, for taking on the extra duties of Interim CAO until the position could be filled permanently.”
The CAO is the only person directly hired by Council; working with Gerald Walsh Associates, the process was as timely, inclusive, and thorough as possible with the participation of all Councillors and senior staff.
MacCulloch was an elected official in New Glasgow for several years before taking on the CAO role in Pincher Creek, Alberta. He has a passion for volunteerism and sport, along with a breadth of experience in both the public and private sectors which will provide a valuable perspective to a municipality poised for growth in sectors such as energy and tourism. MacCulloch begins his work with the municipality on August 22, 2022.
