Cape Breton eyes 1,500 new jobs

Construction on a US$4.5-billion liquefied natural gas plant in Cape Breton could start by as early as next year and at its peak create 1,500 jobs, says the chief technical officer of the company behind the project.

Bear Paw pipeline gets green light (Dec 22, 2016)

All lights are green for a natural gas pipeline to be built in eastern Nova Scotia at a cost of more than $200 million, but the company behind it is saying it won’t go ahead with construction right away.

Energy East extension to N.S. proposed by Senate report (Dec 7, 2016)

A Senate report released Wednesday proposes an extension of Energy East from its current planned end-point in New Brunswick to the Strait of Canso in Nova Scotia, but the company building the pipeline says it’s not considering a change of plans.

The Transport and Communications Committee interim report recommends that the National Energy Board examine Point Tupper, located on the Strait of Canso, as an alternative end-point for the proposed pipeline project.....
