Culture
The visual elements of the Richmond Municipal crest is representative of the four cultures that had originally settled in Richmond County.
A band of stylized water bisects this design as the St. Peter's waterway divides the larger land areas of the county.
On either side a graphic rendering of birch leaves and evergreen bough represents the native Mi'kmaq and their contact to the forest and the shore. Sharing this is the lily, thistle, and shamrock symbolic of the early French, Scottish, and Irish Settlers. |
